The Truth About Making Money Online

The Side Hustle University is trying to be a beacon of truth out there for all of you. I try my best to provide YOU with real world examples to show and prove the possibilities of earning money online and through various “Side Hustles

One common theme I always seem to hear from readers is that they tried this or tried that and have had no luck earning any money. What I have come to learn about most of us out there is that we expect to make hundreds or even thousands of dollars overnight. I will admit that I used to hope and wish this was true.

This is simply not possible, and I hate to break this to you but if that is what you are looking for here, you won’t find it. Those numbers are 99% unachievable. Let’s be real here, if it were that easy to make money, then everyone would be doing it and we would all be holding hands and skipping down the street each and every day.

One thing I often come across while looking at ways to make money online are these outrageous claims of being able to make $1000/day or $30000/month. We see these in the thumbnails on YouTube videos specifically. It’s clickbait, really, and I hate everything about it. It gives honest people like myself a bad look, and it makes it that much more difficult to get any useful information out there to people who are genuinely trying to start a “Side Hustleor make money online.

Look, The Side Hustle University prides itself on being honest, trustworthy, and as transparent as possible, and I feel that I wouldn’t be doing what I say I am trying to do without pointing this out to people.

Spotting The Lies

Go over to YouTube and type in “how to make money online” and take a look at what pops up. I am sure you have seen how many ridiculous claims there are out there. Make $850/hour watching YouTube videos. Make $1400/day sending emails, and my personal favorite, make $43.80 every 30 minutes using Google. Like I said before, if it were this easy, everyone would be doing it.

THIS IS CLICKBAIT!!! These are just the thumbnails and titles to catch your attention and attract views and likes. YouTube pays large sums of money to creators on their platform to draw eyes. When you or I see these videos, it’s money in the pockets of these creators. Now, I am not knocking these people. They’re doing what they can to make some money. They’re simply playing the game. What I cannot stand though is the lies and the misleading of people. This is what I am pointing out to you here.

Unfortunately, many of us fall for these things. I even admit I have fallen for some of these before myself. But it did open my eyes and taught me a few lessons, which is what I want to share with all of you so you do not end up wasting your hard earned money on these things and most importantly your time.

This is one of the reasons that I started my website, The Side Hustle University. I wanted to be able to provide honest, hard working people like you with ways to earn money outside of their regular full-time jobs.

Reality Check

As I said, most of these videos or articles, and blogs are just clickbait. A way to grab your attention and get you to spend some of your hard-earned money. One of the earliest versions of this I have ever come across was stuffing envelopes and making $2500/week. I came across this when I was in college back in 2005. I was young and dumb and naïve but excited to come across something like this.

It never occurred to me that if I were to do this each and every day, I would be able to make over 6 figures a year. The more I tried learning about it, the more things sounded ridiculous to me, but I still gave it a try. I signed up, and to my disappointment, I never received any envelopes to stuff. I was so upset and so mad, but hey I moved on with life.

I still looked for ways to make money outside of a regular job, but I am more cautious and skeptical of everything I encountered. I was determined to have more than one income stream. I was determined to make as much money as I possibly could.

Now, 18 years later, and spending the last 2 years really studying this “Side Hustleculture and ideology, I am sharing it with everyone I know. I want you all to have the same success as I have.

There Is No Such Thing as Easy Money

Making money is something we all desire. We are slaves to it, whether it is something we would admit to or not. There is no harm in it, but there should be limits that we place on it to keep ourselves in check.

We all live in a society that requires money to survive. Noel Gallagher said it best,

I don’t live to work, I work to live.”

As I mentioned a few times already, if it were this easy, everyone would be doing it. If it were possible to make thousands of dollars a day, there is no reason everyone and their grandma wouldn’t be doing this.

The internet and the world at large are full of scams and get-rich-quick schemes that promise fast and effortless riches. Sadly, these schemes only lead to disappointment and financial loss or even worse.

Making money requires effort and hard work. There’s no shortcut to financial success unless you were born rich. It is crazy to me how many people fall for the illusion of easy money, believing that they can make a fortune by doing very little.

The truth is that legitimate sources of income require hard work, persistence, consistency, and dedication. There’s no guarantee of success, and this is something many people will not tell you. Most of these people you come across do not tell you how long they had to grind it out, or how many times they failed. Take affiliate marketing for example. There are hundreds of videos that can be found on YouTube about affiliate marketing and how lucrative it is. Now, to be clear, affiliate marketing is very lucrative, but you won’t make money by posting a link randomly on a Facebook group, on Pinterest, or a blog or forum somewhere. That’s not how it works. There is an art and a science to it, that if done right, will make you a lot of money.

The point is if you put your time in and you will reap the rewards. Treat your “Side Hustle like it is your job, then things will come. You will see, I promise you that. Hard work and dedication are essential for achieving financial success. It’s essential to be and stay committed to your goals and work hard to achieve them. Once you’ve achieved your financial goals, it’s essential to continue working hard to maintain your success. You must continue to improve your business and adapt to changes in the market.

TL;DR Version

When it comes to earning money, many of us are on the lookout for quick and easy ways to make a quick buck online or in some other way. Unfortunately, such methods are often nothing more than scams and get-rich-quick schemes that lead to disappointment and financial loss. It’s important to remember that legitimate sources of income require effort, hard work, and dedication. While it may be tempting to fall for the promise of easy money, it’s crucial to be cautious and avoid any scheme that promises quick riches with little to no effort.

One of the biggest myths about wealth is that it can be achieved without putting in any hard work or dedication. However, the truth is that there’s no such thing as easy money. Financial success and freedom are something that must be earned through persistence, determination, and a willingness to put in the effort.

It’s also important to recognize that financial success is not a one-time thing. Rather it is an ongoing process. Even after achieving financial success, it’s important to continue working hard and staying dedicated to maintaining that success. This means that you should be willing to adapt to changing market conditions, take calculated risks, and always strive to improve yourself.

Focus on working hard, being dedicated, and staying committed to achieving and maintaining financial success. Remember, there’s no shortcut to financial success, but with hard work and dedication, you can achieve your goals.
